Arrested self acclaimed Boko Haram spokesman Ali Konduga is behaving abnormally and has been placed under psychiatric evaluation, the police said.

"On investigation, he was behaving abnormally and was not responding rationally to questions put to him, a situation that suggests that he is of unsound mind," police spokesman Victor Isuzu said.

"Hence, he was taken to the Federal Neuro Psychiatric Centre, Maiduguri, to ascertain his sanity.

"Meanwhile the suspect is still under observation at the hospital," he said.
