A former governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, says that margin of victory for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would have been wide if the Edo governorship election was held on September 10.
Speaking in Benin as part of activities marking his father's birthday celebrations, Igbinedion said that the PDP would produce next governor of the state.

Igbinedion, who had remained silent about the election until now, urged Edo people to vote for development that was laid by the PDP in 1999.

"INEC can postpone the election but they cannot cancel it," he said.
"I can assure you the result will remain the same. I made it clear before, that the next governor will come from our political family. That has been my prayer."
